This is the second round of the online training series “What you should know when exporting to Japan”. It briefs in 30 minutes on the latest information on export processes and procedures relating to EU exports to Japan. It also covers trade and administrative rules and regulations relevant to EU businesses which are new to exporting as well as those which carry out regular, on-going businesses with Japan.

Focus is given to small and medium sized EU enterprises (SMEs) and to those sectors which offer growing opportunities to EU exports to Japan, i.e., food and health sectors.

Are you familiar with export process – before, during and after import clearance at Japan Custom?

This session is an overview of the export process which EU exporters should be actively involved throughout. Key for business success is in cooperation with Japanese importers/buyers in order to establish a long-lasting business relationship. The process starts from exporter’s home country, to shipment of goods, to Japan Custom clearance, and ends at retail markets in Japan.

In 30 minutes from your desk, discover how to:

  • Know of relevant laws and regulations from Japanese importer/buyer and obtain required documents and certificates for their import clearance;
  • Provide required information and documentation for Japanese importer/buyer who apply EU-Japan Preferential Tariff rates;
  • Know requirements to be fulfilled by Japanese importer/buyer until goods are ready for marketing and sales in Japanese market.
