In this issue, you will find all sorts of information relating to our exciting new online portal of information for EU SMEs interested in expanding into or exporting towards the Japanese market, as well as a taste of some of the side and promotional activities which we have planned for the coming months.

As you can see, we have had a very busy 2014 so far - and this is just the tip of the iceberg! We have a large amount of side activities planned over the course of 2014 to complement the launch of this new project. October 2014 Cluster and SME Mission to Japan

The EU-Japan Centre is currently organizing the "Cluster & SME Support Mission", a matchmaking event which will take place in Japan in October 2014, and which is open to EU based clusters and SMEs. These missions typically last for 5 days and are composed of market-specific business seminars, group company visits, one-on-one meetings and various other networking events to create opportunities for EU participants. EU-Japan Centre at CEBIT Fair

Next month, the EU-Japan Centre will have an information booth at the CEBIT fair, one of the world's largest and most important information technology fairs, which takes place every March in Hannover. We will be promoting the activities of the Centre - especially our forthcoming 2015 Cluster/SME mission targeting the Nanotech Sector- as well as the support which we can offer to SMEs interested in entering the Japanese market. In March, the EU-Japan Centre will be attending the B2B Networking Event "Business Technological & Research Partnerships in Sicily & Italy", which will be held in Palermo. We will be promoting awareness among Southern Italian and Sicilian SMEs of opportunities provided by the Centre which can help them to expand their business and research activities towards Japan.
